This proposal outlines a one-year strategic partnership to enhance educational outcomes across The Passmores Co-operative Learning Community (PCLC) through the thoughtful adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Recognising Passmores Academy's recent Good Ofsted rating (February 2024) and the varying needs across PCLC schools, including The Downs Primary School and Nursery's Requires Improvement status, this partnership aims to leverage AI to address specific areas for improvement, enhance strengths, and prepare students for a future where AI literacy is crucial.
About Passmores Academy and PCLC
- Passmores Academy: 11-16 secondary school in Harlow, Essex with ~1,200 students
- Recently rated Good by Ofsted (February 2024)
- Part of The Passmores Co-operative Learning Community (PCLC) multi-academy trust
- PCLC consists of 5 academies, including The Downs Primary School and Nursery (rated Requires Improvement in January 2023). A sixth will soon join the Trust.

Partnership Approach: The ABC Model
My approach is based on an innovative "ABC" model tailored for PCLC's unique context:
- Assess: Evaluate current AI readiness and specific needs across PCLC schools
- Build: Design and implement AI solutions that address areas for improvement and enhance strengths
- Cultivate: Nurture AI integration in daily operations and continuously refine for optimal results
Programme Structure
1. Initial Assessment and Strategy Development (Weeks 1-8)
- Conduct stakeholder interviews across PCLC schools
- Assess current technology infrastructure and data practices
- Perform AI-focused benchmarking
- Develop PCLC's AI vision and strategy, tailored to each school's needs
- Create an AI implementation roadmap
2. Quarterly Focus Areas and Implementation
Q1: Assessment and Foundation (Weeks 1-10)
- Complete initial assessment and strategy
- Identify pilot projects aligned with Ofsted improvement areas
- Begin AI literacy programme for staff across PCLC
Q2: Building and Early Implementation (Weeks 11-20)
- Launch AI pilot projects focused on:
- Enhancing pedagogical approaches, especially retrieval practice and task design
- Supporting early reading instruction
- Improving SEND provision and support
- Provide targeted training for staff on AI-enhanced teaching methods
Q3: Expansion and Curriculum Integration (Weeks 21-30)
- Scale successful pilot projects across PCLC schools
- Implement AI tools to support curriculum revision and monitoring
- Develop AI-powered assessment tools to identify learning gaps
- Host an AI in Education showcase for the PCLC community
Q4: Refinement and Future Planning (Weeks 31-40)
- Assess AI adoption progress and impact on teaching quality and student outcomes
- Refine AI strategy based on learning
- Develop plan for ongoing AI integration and innovation across PCLC
3. Continuous Support
- Monthly on-site visits to PCLC schools
- Bi-weekly virtual check-ins with the core team
- Quarterly progress reviews with trust leadership
- Ongoing access to AI education specialists
